What You Need To Work In Japan
1. Application Form for the Certificate of Eligibility – one (1) copy
The form can be downloaded from below:
– Application Form for the Certificate of Eligibility (PDF: 314KB)
– Application Form for the Certificate of Eligibility (Excel: 158KB)
2. Photograph – one (1) photo (prepare a photo that meets the specified standards and attach it to the application form)
* You may submit a printout of the application form with the photo directly printed on it, but if the photo used does not meet the designated standards and is deemed inappropriate, you may be asked to retake and submit a new photo.
3. Self-addressed return envelope – one (1) envelope (a standard-sized envelope with the recipient’s address clearly written, affixed with the necessary postage for registered mail)
4. Applicant’s resume and documents certifying their career and activities – as appropriate
5. Documents clarifying the overview of the inviting organization:
(a) Certificate of Registered Matters – one (1) copy
(b) Copy of the most recent financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, etc.) – one (1) copy
(c) Employee roster – one (1) copy
6. Documents clarifying the overview of the facility where entertainment is provided:
(a) Copy of the business license – one (1) copy
(b) Facility plan – one (1) copy
(c) Facility photographs – as appropriate
(d) Employee roster – one (1) copy
(e) Certificate of Registered Matters – one (1) copy
(f) Copy of the most recent financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, etc.) – one (1) copy
7. Copy of the contract if the inviting organization is undertaking entertainment activities – one (1) copy
8. Any of the following documents certifying the contents, duration, status, and remuneration of the applicant’s specific activities in Japan:
(a) Copy of the employment contract – one (1) copy
(b) Copy of the performance agreement – one (1) copy
(c) Document equivalent to (a) or (b) above – as appropriate
9. Other reference materials: Itinerary, schedule of performances, advertisements, flyers, etc., providing information on the performance content – as appropriate
If someone other than the applicant submits the application documents (for information on who can submit the documents, please check this page), it is necessary to prove the identity of the submitter (company identification card, etc.) to confirm their eligibility to submit the documents.
If the name on the Certificate of Eligibility differs from the name on the passport, please be aware that it may take time to confirm and proceed with the necessary formalities up to entry into Japan. If possible, please submit a copy of the passport along with the application.
