St. Jude Hospital
Together we can build a brighter future.
In the U.S., 4 out of 5 children survive cancer, but in many countries only 1 out of 5 children diagnosed will survive.
Every child deserves to live their best life. You can help St. Jude give kids with cancer that chance. We won’t stop until no child — anywhere — dies from cancer.

Carl Victor Moore
**Carl Victor Moore**
**Born:** September 24, 1957
Carl V. Moore’s musical journey began with a strong foundation, influenced by his mother, a piano prodigy.
In the summer of 1975, Carl took a significant step in his career by signing his first recording contract with Birthright Records.
That same summer, he enrolled in the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), where he not only pursued his studies but also accompanied a course titled “The Evolution of Afro-American Gospel.”
It was during this time that he invited the renowned Andrae Crouch vocalist, Danniebelle Hall, to serve as a guest lecturer and performer, forging a lifelong mentorship that would greatly impact his career.
In 1976, Carl was honored with the Smithsonian Institute Study Grant in Sociology, allowing him to study under the late, Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon, the founder of the acclaimed group Sweet Honey in the Rock. Following this enriching experience, Carl relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, where he worked for the University of Nebraska Educational TV Department and the Omaha School of Music.
During this period, he played a pivotal role in the taping of the Grammy-nominated album “I Don’t Feel Noway Tired” with Rev. James Cleveland and the Salem Baptist Inspirational Choir.
Carl’s talent and versatility led him to share the stage with notable acts such as Kool & The Gang, WAR, Mass Production, and Confunkshun, allowing him to tour extensively across the U.S. and Canada.
His journey eventually took him to Tokyo, Japan, where he released his first solo project, “CHANCE.” Throughout his career, Carl has had the privilege of performing with legendary artists including Janet Jackson, Chuck Berry, Paul Jackson Sr., and Phyllis Hyman. While working on his second project, “Night Labor,” he was featured on CNN Japan with Mal Adams.
In 1998, Carl returned to Oklahoma and embarked on the ambitious task of establishing the Gospel Jazz Recording Network (GJN). Under his leadership, GJN has produced over fifty projects and launched countless artists, solidifying Carl V. Moore’s legacy as a significant force in the music industry and a champion of gospel jazz.
